I hear you say this is satire, I read the posts above and hear others saying this is satire... But really, How can this article not be true?? It makes perfect sense to me! I don't see anything wrong with being a bartender as a Christian, and infact by the end you had me convinced that more Christians ought to be bartenders... Being a bartender does not require you to even be a drinker! What a wonderful ministry this really could be! Lets all be bartenders! (J/k)

Well, anyway I would like to link to this in my blog if you dont mind?

No Chris and Robert, I'm not joking. My paid occupation is keeping the drunks in line and being salt and light in that realm, and my non-paid pre-occupation involves taking the gospel to people who believe aliens created life on earth and have now returned to save the planet from destruction. (I don't get paid for that one, but do get support from various churches and individuals to help with the expenses.) In both cases, I'm around real people with real problems who need real people with real hope and real answers. Satire is nice for blogging I guess, and if you can be funny live as well, it's also a good bartending skill. Let me know if you ever want to get out of theology and into practicum, and I'll put you to work.

Now you're beating me on Google for the term btw. Good job - you must have lots of links to your blog!

Yours because His,
Guy

Guy,
Please don't asssume that we have do not practice our faith. I could give you a list of not only what I do, but also what my church is doing on a day to day basis.
Since there is the only either the church, or the world, I practice wherever I am.
Unfortunately I know people who claim to know Christ and also believe in alens.
As for bartending, while I believe Christ would have most certainly went into the bars and ministered, I do have a bit of a hard time with the thought of dispensing the freedom of Christ, while at the same time dispensing the thing that keeps many in bondage. I am not being judgemental,
but I do wonder how this can be reconciled.
God Bless your endeavors.
